Iran’s differences with the US can be resolved through dialogue: Iranian President

Pezeshkian said this in an interview with US right-wing podcaster Tucker Carlson. He said, “I believe that it is possible to resolve our differences and conflicts with the United States very easily through talks.”

Pezeshkian’s interview with Tucker Carlson last Saturday was published yesterday Monday.

Pezeshkian made the comment about talks with the United States a few weeks after Israel’s unprecedented bombing of Iran. The Israeli attack on June 13 killed top Iranian military officers and nuclear scientists.

New nuclear talks between Iran and the United States were supposed to start just two days after the attack. However, the talks were stopped due to the Israeli attack. A week later, on June 21, the United States also attacked three important Iranian nuclear facilities. These three facilities are Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.

On Monday, Iranian state media reported that the death toll in the 12-day conflict had risen to at least 1,060.

Pezeshkian blamed Israel for the collapse of talks with the United States.

Pezeshkian said, “How can we trust the United States again? How can we be sure that Israel will not be allowed to attack us again in the middle of the talks?”

Pezeshkian also alleged that Israel tried to kill him during the June 13 attack.

Pezeshkian added, “Yes, they tried. They acted accordingly; but they failed. I was in a meeting. They wanted to bomb the area where we were meeting.”
